Progress Behind The Scenes of Macreme Wall Decor | Elaine Creations Co.

Posted by Gretchen Hartman on

Macreme has been something I have wanted to try for a long time now.

Growing up I would make friendship bracelets in all different shapes, colors, and sizes. Now as an adult, I have realized I can use those same skills from long ago with creating beautiful decor.

I have always been so amazed by these complex yet simple pieces of art. It is amazing that tying knots can make something so beautiful. Here are the progress photos I took as I created my masterpiece!

Creating this piece was so relaxing and refreshing. Sometimes working on my projects can be overwhelming since I am known for starting several all at once. There is something so calming about tying these knots and seeing the outcome one step at a time.

One of the best parts about macreme that I learned while creating this piece is that practice makes perfect and you really can't mess up. The key to creating macreme art is to have even tension with the cords and practice all of the basic knots. Having the design look symmetrical can be tricky but in the end it will be beautiful and well worth it!

I am so excited to share that macreme decor items will start being added in a few weeks! I am accepting commissioned pieces if messaged through email or social media. Make sure you send me a message so we can chat about what creations I can make for you!
